Clothesline Installation Rebate Program


In 2017 Concord is providing an energy saving initiative thru the Cooler Concord Program to help Concord residents reduce their energy footprints by starting to use clotheslines instead of wasting energy using electric or gas clothes dryers. The goal is to get more people using clothes lines to dry all or parts of their laundry loads.

How the Program Works:

If you would like to install a clothesline and reduce your energy use this way.

1.) Please go to a local hardware provider that sells clothesline dryers (See some of the links below.) We recommend a common rotary crown or umbrella type clothes line dryer as one of the simpler designs

2.) Choose and purchase a recommended clothes line product.

3.) Either install it yourself or contact a local handyman or contractor to do it for you. (See Concord venders below that have been contacted about this program. And see the clothesline dryer base install video.)

4.) Print out the enclosed Clothesline Installation Rebate Form

5.) Submit it along with your product purchase bills and installation bill by mail to:

Rebate Policy

The Town of Concord is offering a rebate for residents who install clotheslines or drying racks in their homes or outdoor spaces.

Residents may receive up to $100 for the purchase of equipment that replaces or reduces the use of electric clothes dryers. The rebate may cover the cost of the equipment and installation if applicable, with a cap of $100.

Eligible Equipment for Rebate:

This rebate includes the purchase of any equipment that may be used to hang clothes as a substitute for electric drying. This includes clotheslines or drying racks, such as outdoor umbrella racks or indoor laundry racks.

Rebate Requirements

Applicants must include the following materials along with the completed Rebate Application form:

1) Receipt for equipment purchase.

2) If applicable, invoice for installation of equipment cost was below $100.

It involves pouring a simple concrete base for the clothesline dryer to support the clothesline.
