After careful consideration regarding the convenience for users, the level of service provided, the cost, and the sustainability of the program, CPW is making some changes. Moving to automated collection will result in newer trucks with better emissions. It will reduce the program’s operational costs by increasing efficiency through reduced collection times. A 35-gallon cart for solid waste still helps Concord achieve its goals of waste reduction and also allows for continued participation in the MassDEP PAYT (Pay-As-You-Throw) program, while a larger, 96-gallon, container for recyclables encourages recycling.
Justine St. John , Program Analyst with Concord Public Works, will give a short presentation on the changes to the program and will be available to answer your questions.
