On May 1st, 2021, Framingham High School’s (FHS) Environmental Club hosted an event with the help of a non-profit organization named Tree-Plenish. They achieved their goal of planting 210 trees to compensate for the paper used in the 2019-2020 school year. The club planted Red Maples and Eastern Redbuds seedlings around the community at no cost to the recipients. Find out more information by visiting the Framingham Tree-Plenish website

If you are not getting a tree from Tree-Plenish, you can also get many other plants and trees native to Massachusetts and New England.

2) Tulip Tree (Liriodendron tulipifera)- The Tulip Tree can grow up to 50m and develops rapidly. In the spring, the flowers appear to look like tulips in the colors of green, cream, and orange.

3) Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis)n- The Eastern Redbud is a large deciduous shrub (small tree). It can grow 4.5-9m and spread up to 7.5m. It grows at a moderate rate and can live from 50-70 years.
